I’m busy at work on the next page of Embedded- it’s penciled and scanned, and I’ll ink and colour it over the next couple of days. In the meantime, check out my most recent collaboration: Replacement Parts.
This one was drawn by my day-job co-worker, the very talented Aaron Bouthillier. As an added bonus, here’s the original script that I sent to Aaron. I always find it fascinating to see how an artist will interpret what I’ve written. When I write a script for another person, I always try to pack in more detail than they can possibly use, so as to provide background texture to guide their interpretation. When they go to actually draw a page, a key part of the process for them is to decide what to show and what to leave implied.

Also, if you read a certain post on Aaron’s site, you’ll get a sneak preview of our next big collaboration. It’s still at an early stage, but it’s the most ambitious comics project I’ve ever attempted. If all goes well, it will be a book-length story about mining – and monsters! I’ll post more once the pages start flowing.

You have been busy! I’m really happy to see you enjoying your work. I hope it’s treating you well. Keep it up!
