If you’re in Vancouver this weekend, stop by the Ayden Gallery for the 21 Journeys launch party! We have books for sale, live music, trivia, and you can pay me $5 to draw anything you want on a button!
A teaser image
I have two stories in the next Cloudscape book. I’m drawing one (a 12 page monster that is threatening to eat all of my spare time), and Aaron is drawing the other, shorter one. I think I may have done that backwards.
Anyway, Aaron has posted a preview image of the style he’s going to use on his blog.
All of my pages so far are unpostable pencils, but I’ll start showing something soon
New Book!
I’m not sure if anyone actually reads this site anymore, but just in case there’s anyone left, the latest book that I’m and and have helped edit is finally out!

You can pick up a copy here, or at our upcoming Launch Party! (more details forthcoming).
ALSO – I have caught the comic making bug again, and as soon as I finish my next 12-page monster for Cloudscape, I’m going to re-launch the site and start a NEW WEBCOMIC! Watch for it this fall!!
Omnisaurus wants to eat you
Sorry for the radio silence of late. We’ve been super busy at Cloudscape getting the book ready to print. Rumour has it that it’s uploading to the printer RIGHT NOW!
I’ve also been putting together a new site for my so-called game company, which has been renamed (again!) to Omnisaurus Games. We’ve registered that one as a legal entity, so we’re sticking with it! Gord and I have been posting about the early development of our “cats-with-a-space-program” game over there, so you should totally check it out if you like that sort of thing. There are even Python scripts that you can download! Nerrrrrrrd!
I haven’t forgotten about the SCP strip that I promised everyone, but I’ve had a bit of writer’s block of late. I’ve written a couple of stories for Cloudscape’s fantasy book, but I’m having a hell of a time coming up with a convincing joke. I’ll try to get that done soon!
Parallel Lines
The Cloudscape Indiegogo fundraiser is almost over, and we’ve raised enough to print our next book! Yay!
As promised, here’s the story that Aaron and I submitted for this book:
I did the writing and colouring for this one, and Aaron did the drawing. If you’re interested in process stuff, here’s the original script that I sent Aaron. As you can see, the story got trimmed down a bit, thanks to some feedback from our Cloudscape editor, Jeff.
I also owe you all at least one more SCP strip, so I’ll start thinking up a good one. I’ll try to get that out within a week.
As I’m writing this, the campaign is sitting at just over $4000. That’s great, but there’s just over one day left to push it up even further! There’s a literal mountain of Cloudscape swag still available for people who preorder, and you might even push the total high enough to make me make more SCP! Who doesn’t love a good sad robot strip now and again?
A cowboy and a robot
The indiegogo campaign is almost over, and it just hit $3000. So, here’s my promised perk: an unproduced script that I wrote a while back about a robot cowboy!
There are only a couple days left for the fundraiser, so now is the time to pledge your life savings, if you haven’t already. Some of the cloudscape people will be staying up all night doing a comic jam webcast tonight. They’ll be doing commissions and requests for cash, so if you like to toss money at people to get them to do things they wouldn’t otherwise, NOW IS YOUR CHANCE!

Will draw for cash
Thanks everyone who has already pre-ordered Cloudscape’s next book, 21 Journeys. Unfortunately, it looks like the fundraiser has stalled. At this moment, we’re just barely over the $2000 mark, with about a month to go to make it to $7000. Something must be done!
So here’s the deal:
- When the cloudscape fund hits 3000, I’ll post an as-of-yet-unproduced two-page script for a short that I wrote about cowboys some of which are robots.
- When the campaign hits the half-way point, I’ll post Parallel Lines (the submission written by me and drawn by Aaron) here as a preview.
- For every $500 we make beyond that, I’ll make a new SCP strip, for old time’s sake.
- If the campaign actually reaches $7000, I’ll post the script for the first 16-pages of Underground – the graphic novel that Aaron and I are working on.
So please – spread the word! Email your comics-loving friends! Twitter your grandma! Use all of the web 2.0 gubbins at your disposal!
